I think the trick was having Christy there to send us good garage sale karma.

Enjoy the profits!
ShannaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14055790.post-1159979301932337782006-10-04T11:28:00.000-05:002006-10-04T11:28:00.000-05:00One of the freakish things about Lubbock, Texas is...One of the freakish things about Lubbock, Texas is that yard/garage sales happen any day of the week 365 days a year...weather permiting. Some people are pack rats, others are really poor and looking for hand-me-down upgrades, trying to save a trip to the DI or charitable "second-hand store". either way, I think most people suckers and attracted to yard sales, like stink to a monkey, at some point in life.

I even found myself stopping at one the other day to look at an upgrade for my youngest son's bed.

When we moved into our home here in Lubbock we opted to donate all the stuff that we felt like parting with. Being in such a new neighborhood (only two houses had been built) we didn't think we'd have good enough turn out. Otherwise I'm sure I could have made a fortune. We got rid of a ton of stuff. Stuff we had been packing around for 10 years....okay, I'm done spouting...I think.Lylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03260672421125052182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14055790.post-1159938588015315502006-10-04T00:09:00.000-05:002006-10-04T00:09:00.000-05:00Ha!! They were my mission uniform. :-) Whenever I think of England, I am wearing that jumper in navy blue /w little white flowers. SWEET!

We aren't allowed to have garage sales here. I could do it at my friends house, but if I am going to load up all my crap..I might as well take it to GOODWILL. I did, one time, have a "free sale". I put everything I didn't want in our parking space and said it was all free. It was gone in about 30 minutes. :-)

What are you going to buy with all your money? A baby? :-) (many of my friends have garage sales to pay for adoptions..... trade in your crap for a baby!! It works for me!Bekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02421106490759593190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14055790.post-1159934579951341172006-10-03T23:02:00.000-05:002006-10-03T23:02:00.000-05:00So now I'm dating myself, but in my day it was all...So now I'm dating myself, but in my day it was all Jessica McClintock. But isn't there something wonderful about elminating all that stuff? I am too lazy to do a yard sale so I just dump it all off at DI, but however you do it it feels so good!

(At least until you realize how fast it starts to accumulate again.)dalenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13414972890937798371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14055790.post-1159934297119782682006-10-03T22:58:00.000-05:002006-10-03T22:58:00.000-05:00A--I won't even mention (oh, too late) the shorts ...A--I won't even mention (oh, too late) the shorts I found from the Limited circa 1988 ("Outback Red") I don't think they could've possibly made it with more pleats at the waist, and also my ten-button tee. Ah, memories.

My mom also had a sweet fitted black sweater with a little tie around the top with (little fake animal heads of some sort) ferrets maybe? That's what it looked like anyway. I'll take the leopard print bodysuit. She had the bod for it too. Instead I am donating to friends, DI and Freecyling.

I do struggle with giving away some pieces of clothing. After all, you don't want to rob your kids of fabulous dress-up pieces and future school dress-up days.Carinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13859567470814286102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14055790.post-1159898496889958332006-10-03T13:01:00.000-05:002006-10-03T13:01:00.000-05:00No, I didn't remember the leopard print jumpsit, u...No, I didn't remember the leopard print jumpsit, until NOW.
