Embarassing!!

I think the bad thing about Corelle dishes never breaking is that. . .

Maybe, just maybe, they SHOULD break. That would necessitate buying NEW dishes. You know, like getting rid of the ones you got for your wedding shower oh, like, 14 YEARS AGO!!

It's time. Here are a few I'm looking at, and now that I'm finally looking, what the heck took me so long. It's not like dishes cost as much as getting a new car!! (Well, I guess some could, but the ones I'm considering certainly don't).
I just want something simple, actually I'll probably go with the catering plates (really, they're only like $50 for 12 plates!), then I can change things up with cool bowls and cups now and then, or at least more often then every 14 years.
Most of all, any of you out there with your country kitchen in country blue with mauve hearts, with cows and cute little farm animals and a hand painted scripture display that you made in "Homemaking", just send me your address, and I'll gladly pack up your dishes!!
And look here. . .I found the perfect place mats and napkins on ebay to match!!

I love Corelle! My set is 12 years old and quite country too (look up country cottage on the corelle site) and its still sold in stores!

I hope you get a fun new set. Perhaps as an upcoming anniversary present? Hint hint Matt!

I'm feeling your pain.

Although, in my case, enough of our plates are missing or broken that it's also time to get new ones. I might have to hit up IKEA to get some basics that are inexpensive and easily replaceable.

Oh, and spoons! We're always running out of spoons! (On account of our kids shoving them into holes in the wall.)

Did you buy them yet? Either set is awesome.

You could have Athena come play. She is able to break them. We have broken at least 2 mugs and several plates. Unfortunately there is usually food on the plates...

So funny. I had this same conversation with Nathan last Christmas. "All I want for Christmas is some brand new plates" Colleen even noticed the next time she came over. They don't have that new plate smell but it's still pretty exciting to eat off them.

The PB one chip quite easily.. just an FYI (b/c I did this a few years ago). I buy my basics at IKEA (the big plates are about a buck... you can get lots of plates and bowls, etc for around 50$). Then when they break, I don't care (and they do chip..), I just pull out another one. Then I spend my money on cute bowls, cute salad plates, etc, to mix it up a bit.

Having an ikea plate chip just makes me think, too bad, having a PB plate makes me want to cry...

Target has really cute melamine ones right now and some really pretty blues...

How fun!
