Customer Service. . .
It's amazing in these days of SuperWalmart, Superthat, Superthis, that any small hometown business/grocery store can stay in business. I figured out why this small store in the middle of town has been in business for about 50 years (I have no idea really how long, but I would guess about 50.)
I was at SuperWalmart and literally waited in line (I did at least get some good celebrity magazine reading done) for at LEAST 15 minutes. Ugh. Snotty cashier, noisy, dirty store, why the heck am I shopping here?
Later that week I forgot something and ran down to our neighborhood grocer--Leon's. I had maybe 2 things I was buying and when I got to the checkout a man stepped in line to checkout behind me and the cashier (get this. . .) called for another checker. Someone was there on the spot to help him out. And they also asked if I needed help out with my groceries. . .my whole 2 items. . ."Thanks, I got it this time!"
Can I get a Amen for customer service??

Amen, and Hallelujah! Good customer service is rare these days. I guess we know where you'll be shopping from now on....
Amen Leon! Where the heck is Leon's? I don't think I ever saw it there?
Prazenglorybe!
I'm always sad about mom n pops put out of business by superstores. However, I am so guilty of going one-stop shopping. sigh.
Oh, let it be known that my car still drives straight to Target when I get in. . .and I will still shop at Walmart. . .I'll just be grouchy about it while I'm saving money. But we do love Leon's for being right down the street and they have the best meat counter in town (do I sound like a commercial yet?). And I love to see all the rich ladies in their convertibles shop there. They even leave their little dogs out front while they shop!!
I remember hearing stories about Leons from Lisa...didn't she work in the Deli?
LOVE the tree pictures w/ the Clarks. Every time I see a picture of Hugie I get a little started b/c he looks JUST LIKE ROBERT. Whitney is getting so big.
As for the Xander story..you told me that story when we were in Utah to get Jacob and you and Lisa were pregnant....that was a good trip and it is a VERY cool story...tell it some day.
I love that you do family camp... I want our family to do something like that in the future. Those memeories will be priceless for your kids.
Um, not to brag or anything, but I think the signs I made in high school are STILL UP THERE!
I heart Leon's!
Do they still see those tostatas that the school cafeteria sells? Also, if its the same deli ladies there, a. I'll die, b. they make the best mac and cheese on Fridays you'll ever have in your life.
I dusted gum there, it was so slow.
Lisa, I was just going to write about that. . .I think I'll sneak my camera inside and find one of your signs!! You were the best thing that ever happened to them. . .I think I just found Madisons job for when she turns 14.
Yes, they sell the tostatas and the delicious corn tortilla burritos. I'm sure it's the same ladies and maybe I'll have mac and cheese for lunch tomorrow!!
